Correctional Queens beat Mposa Academy 3-0 in Zimbabwe Women’s League

Correctional Queens moved to fourth in the Zimbabwe Women Premier Soccer League after defeating Mposa Academy 3-0 at Bulawayo Chiefs Village.

Correctional Queens strengthened their position near the top of the Zimbabwe Women Premier Soccer League with a 3-0 victory over Mposa Academy at Bulawayo Chiefs Village on Wednesday. The result took Correctional Services to 35 points from 16 matches and left them fourth in the standings, while Mposa remained eighth on 19 points.

The visitors needed only 11 minutes to take control. Kudzanai Chiparausha broke forward and took advantage of uncertainty in the Mposa defence to give Correctional Queens the lead.

Mposa’s efforts to recover were undermined by an error involving their goalkeeper. She moved out to support the defence but brought down Correctional striker Skhulekile Nyoni inside the penalty area. The incident handed the Queens a spot-kick, which they used to increase their advantage.

Mposa coach Evans Netha responded with two substitutions as his team sought a way back into the match. Lekeiva Jaravani replaced Rufaro Maphosa, while Praise Neshiri came on for Nadya Mtshiya.

Those changes did not prevent Correctional from adding a third goal after the interval. Blessing Dube completed the scoring to secure a convincing away win and keep the Queens within reach of the leading sides.

The result also kept Correctional ahead of Black Rhinos, who moved to 36 points after beating Chegutu Community 3-2, while Chapungu Queens remained one point above them after being held to a goalless draw. Mposa must now recover from a second-half defeat that left them 16 points behind the Queens.
