Ghana-Anhui donates 2,120 sports items for Constituency Games
The Ghana-Anhui Chamber has given 2,120 sports items to Ghana’s NSA partnership committee to support the nationwide Constituency Games.
The Ghana-Anhui Chamber of Commerce and Industry has donated 2,120 sports items to Ghana’s National Sports Authority Resource Mobilisation and Partnership Committee to support the Constituency Games and grassroots sports development.
The package contains 600 pairs of footwear, including Peace canvas sneakers and casual shoes, alongside 1,520 Peace T-shirts. The shirts are available in adult unisex sizes from XS to 3XL.
The items were presented on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the ESP Hotel in Labone, Accra. The ceremony followed the inauguration of the NSA committee, which is responsible for building partnerships and securing support for the national community sports programme.
The Constituency Games are designed to widen access to organised sport across Ghana’s communities. The initiative is also intended to identify promising athletes and provide a route from constituency-level competition to regional and national events.
Samson Deen, chairman of the NSA partnership committee, said the contribution would help reduce the barriers that prevent young people from taking part in sport. He said Ghana’s sporting potential would require dependable structures, credible partnerships and sustained investment to produce success at higher levels.
Ghana-Anhui Chamber chairman Tang Wei said the donation reflected the organisation’s corporate social responsibility and its commitment to Ghana’s development. He described sport as a means of bringing communities together, encouraging discipline and creating opportunities for young people.
Former Black Stars captain Andre Ayew also welcomed the support and highlighted the importance of community-level opportunities. He noted that the programme covers several sports nationwide, rather than focusing only on football, and linked his own development to playing in local communities as a child. Other sports figures present included Ghana Olympic Committee president Richard Akpokavie, NSA director general Yaw Ampofo Ankrah and NSA board chairman Dr Awal.
