De Reuck scores in 2-1 win as Maseko debuts and Mokwena wins

Rushine De Reuck scored in Simba SC’s 2-1 win, while Rulani Mokwena opened with Pyramids and Thapelo Maseko debuted for Copenhagen.

Rushine De Reuck scored in Simba SC’s 2-1 away win over Singida Black Stars. Pyramids began Rulani Mokwena’s Egyptian league campaign with a 3-0 victory, while Thapelo Maseko made his Copenhagen debut in a 4-0 defeat by Viborg.

De Reuck, who captains Simba, settled the Tanzanian match from the penalty spot. His conversion provided the winning margin after Steve Barker’s side had edged Singida in an away fixture.

Mokwena’s first league match in charge of Pyramids ended with a comfortable result against Ghazl El Mahallah. The victory came away from home after the club completed its pre-season preparations with a training camp in Turkey, giving the coach a winning start to the Egyptian campaign.

Maseko entered Copenhagen’s match for the final 13 minutes, but could not influence a game that Viborg won 4-0. Gift Links completed the match for Aarhus in Denmark as his team drew 2-2 with Odense.

Ime Okon played the full game for Hannover 96 in the DFB Pokal, where his team defeated Hemelingen 9-1. In Austria, Yusuf Maart also played all 90 minutes as Ried beat Grazer AK 1-0, while Jaedin Rhodes was not selected for the matchday squad.

Olwethu Makhanya continued his run of full-match appearances for Rangers, who defeated Jablonec 1-0 in Scotland. Yaya Sithole played seven minutes in Tondela’s 1-0 loss to Academica, while Puso Dithejane came on for three minutes as Chicago Fire drew 1-1 with New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer.
