Dillon Danis accuses Nate Diaz of rejecting multiple $1m fight offers

Dillon Danis has accused Nate Diaz of rejecting several offers worth more than $1 million to fight him. The claim came after Diaz criticised Danis’ withdrawal from his scheduled bout with Mike Perry in Miami, Florida.

Danis, a 3-0 submission specialist, pulled out of the MMA contest 48 hours before it was due to take place on Saturday night. The decision prompted a backlash, with Diaz among those who mocked him on social media. The UFC also posted a message ridiculing Danis, using a crying-laughing emoji.

Danis replied the following day with a series of accusations aimed at Diaz. He said offers above the seven-figure mark had been made to Diaz on multiple occasions for a fight between the two men, and alleged that Diaz had repeatedly avoided the matchup.

The exchange also included personal threats from Danis towards Diaz and his brother. Danis claimed that security had previously been required to keep the pair apart, although no details were provided about the incidents behind that assertion.

Danis’ withdrawal came after he suffered a serious wrist injury. He later posted video footage showing a large wound being treated with stitches, describing himself as deeply disappointed by the situation.

The cause of the injury has not been established, and there is no confirmed timetable for Danis to return. His withdrawal leaves the dispute with Diaz as the latest public development surrounding the fighter, whose professional MMA record stands at three wins and no losses.
