Eddie Hearn eyes Brandon Moore for Teremoana after Savage win

Eddie Hearn has identified WBO No. 14 Brandon Moore as a potential next opponent for Teremoana. This follows the heavyweight's two-round victory over DeAndre Savage on the Gold Coast in Australia on Wednesday night.

Teremoana improved his professional record to 12-0 with 12 knockouts following the win. Hearn expressed frustration regarding the difficulty of finding suitable opposition in Australia, noting that many fighters are unwilling to face the 28-year-old. The promoter emphasized the necessity of securing more rounds to prepare the fighter for future challenges.

Brandon Moore holds a record of 19-1 with 10 knockouts. He previously defeated Savage via a 10-round unanimous decision last September, during which he scored a knockdown in the seventh round. Moore's only career loss came in 2024 against Richard Torrez Jr., who secured a five-round knockout.

During the bout with Savage, Teremoana showed patience in the first round, throwing few punches before a late right hand caused damage. Hearn noted that Savage appeared intimidated by the power displayed. The promoter suggested that Teremoana needs to face opponents who will fight to win rather than just survive, as this will prepare him for the rigours of championship boxing.

Hearn intends for Teremoana to compete twice more before the end of this year. He believes the heavyweight requires four or five more bouts before attempting to challenge for a world title, a goal he has set for the end of 2027 when Teremoana will be 29. The objective is to ensure the fighter is ready for 10 or 12-round contests.
