Edo Queens face ASEC, Ampem Darkoa in 2026 WAFU B group

Nigeria’s Edo Queens will meet ASEC Mimosas, Ampem Darkoa and AS Garde Nationale in Group B of the 2026 WAFU B Champions League.

Edo Queens have been placed in Group B of the 2026 WAFU B Women’s Champions League alongside ASEC Mimosas, Ampem Darkoa and AS Garde Nationale. The Nigerian champions will face opponents from Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana and Niger Republic in the regional competition.

The tournament will be held in Burkina Faso from 23 August to 5 September 2026. Hosts USFA will headline Group A, which also contains Dynamique FC of Benin Republic and ASKO of Togo.

The draw sets up a second WAFU B Champions League appearance for Edo Queens. Moses Aduku’s team won the regional title on their debut in 2024, earning qualification for the CAF Women’s Champions League.

That first campaign also took Edo Queens to fourth place at the continental tournament. Their return to the WAFU B competition will again offer a route into the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League, with the Burkina Faso event serving as the qualifying tournament.

Edo Queens enter the group as the reigning Nigeria Women Football League champions. Their Group B opponents give them a varied test, with ASEC representing Côte d’Ivoire, Ampem Darkoa coming from Ghana and AS Garde Nationale completing the four-team section.

The competition will run for two weeks, beginning on Sunday, 23 August and ending on Saturday, 5 September. Group A will feature the hosts alongside the Beninese and Togolese clubs, while Edo Queens’ progress will be decided against the three teams in Group B.
