
Niger Tornadoes appoint Hassan Mohammed for NPFL feeder team
Niger Tornadoes have appointed Hassan Mohammed as head coach of their feeder team as the club continues a wider restructuring process.
Niger Tornadoes have appointed Hassan Mohammed as head coach of their feeder team, adding a new figure to the club’s development structure. The side is intended to prepare young players for Nigeria Professional Football League football with the senior team.
Mohammed will work with Tukur Mohammed, Evans E. Mensah, Lawal Kuta, Isah Mustapha and Usman Mohammed Sani. Nmaliman Abdullahi and Mohammed A. Hassan have been assigned to coordinate the team.
Danjuma Mohammed Yewa has been named trainer, while Ali Kotoko will oversee the development of the goalkeepers. The appointment was confirmed by Niger Tornadoes chairman Dr Abubakar Abdullahi Kuso.
The move comes as Niger Tornadoes restructure following the arrival of a new management team. The feeder side gives the club a dedicated pathway for developing players who could later feature in NPFL matches.
Niger Tornadoes finished 15th in the 2026 NPFL standings with 48 points from 38 matches. Their record was 13 wins, nine draws and 16 defeats, with 37 goals scored and 36 conceded.
Their recent results show one win, three draws and one defeat. They beat Shooting Stars 1-0, drew 0-0 away to El Kanemi Warriors, shared a 2-2 result with Kwara United, lost 3-0 at Remo Stars and drew 0-0 with Enugu Rangers. The senior team’s next league fixture is against Enyimba on 30 August 2026.
