Emanuel Navarrete has not agreed to O'Shaquie Foster fight

Emanuel Navarrete has not signed an agreement for a unification fight against O'Shaquie Foster scheduled for October 24. Alejandro Brito, the manager for Navarrete, denied reports that the three-belt junior lightweight contest is finalized.

Brito stated that all parties involved must reach an agreement to close such a fight, and his client has not yet given his consent. The proposed match would see Navarrete defend his IBF and WBO titles against Foster, who currently holds the WBC belt at 130 pounds.

Navarrete secured his IBF championship on February 28 by stopping Eduardo Nunez after ten rounds. A victory over Foster would allow Navarrete to hold three of the four major belts in the division.

Foster offers a distinct style characterized by counterpunching, movement, and outside boxing. These attributes contrast with Navarrete's offensive approach, which relies on forcing opponents into long exchanges. Navarrete has previously struggled against technical fighters, including a majority draw against Robson Conceicao in 2023 and a split decision loss to Denys Berinchyk in 2024.

While the fight would offer significant rewards for the division, the match remains unofficial. Despite promotional plans for a fall date, the Navarrete camp has not provided the necessary approval to proceed.
