Former Dreams FC midfielder Agbekpornu joins Raja on three-year deal

Ghanaian midfielder Michael Agbekpornu has signed a three-year contract with Raja Club Athletic after leaving Spanish side SD Huesca.

Michael Agbekpornu has completed his move to Raja Club Athletic, signing a three-year contract with the Moroccan club after leaving Spanish side SD Huesca as a free agent.

The 27-year-old midfielder joins the Casablanca-based side following weeks of interest and negotiations. Raja had been pursuing the former Dreams FC player and secured his signature after his short spell in Spain ended.

Agbekpornu began his professional career with Ghana Premier League club Dreams FC before moving to Albania in 2021 to join KF Egnatia. He helped Egnatia win the Albanian Cup during the 2022-23 season, adding a domestic honour to his early career.

He then continued his career in Croatia with top-flight club Slaven Belupo before moving to Huesca earlier this year. During the 2025-26 campaign, he made 10 appearances in LaLiga2, although his time with the Spanish club was brief.

The transfer gives Agbekpornu a return to African football and places him at one of the continent’s most established clubs. Raja are multiple-time Moroccan champions and former CAF Champions League winners, with domestic and continental ambitions ahead of the new season.

Raja’s midfield will now include a player whose game has been built through experience in Ghana, Albania, Croatia and Spain. His defensive discipline, physical strength and ability to manage the pace of matches are qualities that can add depth to the squad as the club prepares for its next campaign.
