Hapoel Jerusalem sign defender Sharani Zuberu from Slovan Bratislava
Hapoel Jerusalem have completed the free transfer of dual-national full-back Sharani Zuberu following his successful four-year stint in Slovakia.
Hapoel Jerusalem have completed the signing of defender Sharani Zuberu on 13 August 2026. The move sees the left-sided full-back join the Israeli Ligat ha’Al side from Slovan Bratislava on a free transfer.
Zuberu arrives in Israel following a highly successful period in the Slovak Nike Liga. During his four seasons with Slovan Bratislava, he secured four consecutive league titles, winning the championship in the 2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25, and 2025-26 campaigns. He joined the Slovak champions in February 2023 after a period as a free agent.
The 1.85m defender brings European experience to the Hapoel Jerusalem backline. In the 2026-27 season, he featured in two Champions League qualifying matches, playing a total of 37 minutes without recording a goal or an assist.
Born in Accra, Zuberu holds both Ghanaian and Togolese nationality. His professional career began in Ghana with Dreams FC before he moved to Sparta Prague B. He later joined Dunajska Streda in July 2019, which included a loan spell at Michalovce during the 2020-21 season.
Zuberu's current market value is estimated at €150,000, a figure below his previous career high of €350,000. He is a left-footed player who primarily operates on the left side of the defence.
