Kelechi Iheanacho scores in third straight Turkish league match
Nigeria striker Kelechi Iheanacho has scored in three consecutive matches in Turkey after finding the net late in his latest appearance.
Kelechi Iheanacho scored for the third consecutive match in Turkey, continuing his recent run with a late goal in the country’s second tier. The Nigeria striker struck in the 86th minute at Karamgurcu, although his effort served only as a consolation for his team.
The goal keeps Iheanacho’s scoring sequence intact across his last three matches. His latest contribution came near the end of the game, leaving little time for his side to turn the result around after falling behind.
Iheanacho’s current spell in Turkey follows a season in Scotland with Celtic. He scored five times in 13 appearances for the club last season as Celtic secured the Scottish championship.
That campaign added another league title to a career that has included major clubs in England and Spain. Iheanacho previously played for Manchester City, Leicester City and Middlesbrough in England, before featuring for Sevilla in Spain.
His three-match scoring run now provides a notable update on his form in Turkey. The latest goal was not enough to alter the outcome at Karamgurcu, but it continued a sequence that has seen him score in each of his team’s last three matches.
