Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Kwame Baah has joined South African club The Bees FC on a one-year contract with an option for another season.

Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Kwame Baah has joined South African club The Bees FC on a one-year contract. The agreement includes an option to add a further season, giving the 28-year-old a chance to continue his career in South Africa.

Baah arrives as a free agent at the Motsepe Foundation Championship club. His move follows a career that has included Ghana Premier League football, continental competition and international appearances at youth level.

The Accra-born goalkeeper began his professional journey with Heart of Lions in Ghana’s Division One League. He later moved to Inter Allies FC before signing for Asante Kotoko in 2019.

Baah became an important member of Kotoko’s squad and contributed to the club’s Ghana Premier League title success in the 2021/22 season. He also featured twice in the CAF Champions League during his time with the Kumasi club, completing 180 minutes in the competition.

His international experience came with Ghana’s under-20 and under-23 teams. Baah collected five caps for the under-23 side, adding a national-team background to his club career.

After departing Kotoko in 2023, Baah spent time with ASAS of Djibouti and also had a spell without a club. He had previously been linked with Hearts of Oak, but the move to The Bees FC now provides his next confirmed destination.

The transfer gives Baah a new setting in which to rebuild momentum and gives The Bees FC an experienced goalkeeper for their Motsepe Foundation Championship campaign. His initial contract runs for one season, with the extension option leaving open the possibility of a longer stay.
