Kotoko assistant coach Hamza Obeng Mohammed earns CAF License A
Asante Kotoko assistant coach Hamza Obeng Mohammed has completed the CAF License A course as he continues working across the club.
Asante Kotoko assistant coach Hamza Obeng Mohammed has completed the CAF License A coaching course organised by the Ghana Football Association. The qualification marks another step in his coaching career and strengthens his credentials within the club’s technical structure.
Kotoko confirmed the achievement and congratulated Hamza for completing the programme. He combines two roles at the club, serving as assistant coach of the senior team and head coach of the Young Porcupines, Kotoko’s youth side.
The new qualification adds to experience gained during his time with Hearts of Oak. Hamza worked on Samuel Boadu’s technical team when the Accra club won the Ghana Premier League and FA Cup double in 2021. Hearts then retained the FA Cup the following year, giving Hamza further success in a senior coaching environment.
He also took on greater responsibility at Kotoko during the closing stages of last season. After Karim Zito left the club, Hamza finished the campaign as interim head coach. Prince Yaw Owusu was later appointed as his replacement but subsequently stepped down.
Kotoko are now preparing for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season, with Hamza expected to remain part of head coach Eric Tinkler’s staff. His continued involvement with both the senior and youth teams gives him responsibilities across two levels of the club as he develops his career.
Completing the CAF License A course places Hamza among the club’s qualified coaching personnel ahead of the new league campaign. His work with the first team, his leadership of the Young Porcupines and his previous experience at Hearts of Oak now form the main parts of his coaching background at Kotoko.
