Kurt Okraku renews GFA pledge on governance and football growth

Ghana Football Association president Kurt Okraku has reaffirmed the GFA’s commitment to stronger governance, transparency and football development across the country.

Okraku made the pledge during the association’s 32nd Ordinary Congress at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Thursday. His address placed governance and institutional standards at the centre of the GFA’s work over the past 12 months.

The GFA president said accountability, transparency and institutional integrity have continued to shape the association’s administration. He presented those principles as the basis for building a more credible and respected football governing body in Ghana.

Okraku also stressed that the GFA’s mandate extends across the game, from grassroots football to the professional leagues and the national teams. The association’s development responsibilities include supporting young players and improving the structures that serve football at every level.

Refereeing standards, football infrastructure and the integrity of competitions were also identified as areas covered by the GFA’s ongoing work. The association’s stated focus therefore combines the development of football with efforts to protect its competitions and strengthen its institutions.

The Congress provided a platform for Okraku to restate that the GFA intends to develop, promote and safeguard football for the benefit of Ghanaians. His comments linked the association’s governance objectives with its wider plans for talent development, national teams and the professional game.
