Ladies Championship begins 2026 Johnnie Walker Uganda Golf Open

The 2026 Johnnie Walker Uganda Golf Open series starts at Kitante with a three-day ladies championship featuring local stars and international players.

The 2026 Johnnie Walker Uganda Golf Open series officially begins on Wednesday, August 13. The tournament series opens with a three-day ladies championship held at the par-72 UGC course in Kitante.

The competition features an open field consisting of the country's premier female golfers and eight international players. Among the foreign competitors is Neema Olomi, who previously won the championship in 2018. Local players Martha Babirye and Peace Kabasweka enter the tournament as the primary favourites to secure the title.

Several rising talents are expected to challenge the established leaders. Winnie Musuya and Keisha Kagoro are among the younger players in the field, arriving at the event following their recent success at the Botswana Ladies Open. Other seasoned competitors in the mix include Hawa Wanyeche from Tanzania, Meron Kyomugisha, Judith Komiugisha, and Vicky Elias.

The tee-off schedule for the opening day is set to begin early in the morning. Martha Babirye will start her round at 8:00 a.m. alongside Rose Azuba and Laura Atukunda. Peace Kabasweka is scheduled to tee off at 9:20 a.m. with Danelle Kawalya and Vicky Elias.

Neema Olomi will begin her pursuit of the title at 9:30 a.m. She will be playing in the same group as Wendy Angudeyo and Rest Nalutaya. This ladies championship serves as the inaugural event for the 2026 Johnnie Walker Uganda Golf Open series.
