Leeds United prepare offer for Nico Elvedi after verbal agreement

Leeds United are preparing an official transfer bid for Borussia Mönchengladbach defender Nico Elvedi. A verbal agreement has already been reached with the 29-year-old centre-back for a contract that would run until 2029.

Elvedi has indicated his desire to leave the German club this summer to join the Premier League. He views the project at Leeds positively and has previously been close to a move to Wolves. Because his current contract with Mönchengladbach lasts until 2027, a sale is considered beneficial for both clubs.

The completion of the Elvedi deal is linked to the movement of Sebastiaan Bornauw. Hamburger SV are working to secure the 27-year-old on a loan deal that includes an option to purchase. Bornauw has already reached a verbal agreement with the Bundesliga side.
