Mamelodi Sundowns beat Marumo Gallants 1-0 in 2026 PSL game

Mamelodi Sundowns defeated Marumo Gallants 1-0 in the South African Premier Soccer League on Wednesday, with a first-half goal from Khoza deciding the match. The result moved Sundowns to sixth place with five points from three matches, while Gallants stayed 14th with two points from four games.

Sundowns made the breakthrough when Khoza finished with a powerful volley after the ball fell to him from a corner. Gallants goalkeeper Lako had already been called into action before the goal, saving from Bennet Mokoena, and he kept his side within one goal as the match progressed.

Gallants threatened during the opening half, but Sundowns goalkeeper Williams stopped Otladisa’s effort. He also denied Sikhakhane after the defender tried to score with a diving header. Gallants had entered the game without a win in their five listed matches, drawing 0-0 with Stellenbosch and recording 1-1 results against Polokwane City, Richards Bay, TS Galaxy and Sekhukhune United. Their defeat at Sundowns ended that run of draws and left them two points above the bottom position in the standings provided.

Sundowns, meanwhile, strengthened their position in the early table with a narrow home victory. Gallants were unable to turn their recent run of draws into a positive result and remain among the teams near the foot of the PSL standings.
