Manchester United to pay part of Altay Bayindir's wages

Manchester United will continue to pay a portion of Altay Bayindir's wages following his move to Celta Vigo. The 28-year-old goalkeeper joined the Spanish side on loan last week in a deal that includes an option to buy.

Celta Vigo director of football Marco Garcés provided details on the financial structure of the agreement. He confirmed that United are covering part of the Turkish international's salary. The deal also features a loan fee that is subject to reduction based on the number of matches the goalkeeper plays.

Garcés noted that Manchester United assisted during the negotiation process to facilitate the transfer. The arrangement means that Celta Vigo's loan costs decrease as Bayindir gains more playing time. The agreement also contains a purchase option for the club.

Bayindir stated that while he had other opportunities this summer, a conversation with Claudio made Celta Vigo his only choice. He expressed a desire to give his all to the club and noted that the chance to play in La Liga and compete in the Europa League were significant factors in his decision.

The goalkeeper is expected to compete for a starting position with Andrei Radu. Bayindir acknowledged the difficulty of being a second goalkeeper but emphasized his commitment to the team over personal benefit. He intends to push himself to improve his standing within the squad.

The structure of the deal suggests Manchester United's priority was ensuring the goalkeeper receives regular playing time. By reducing the loan fee through appearances and continuing to subsidize his wages, the move provides Bayindir with a path to consistent football while offering Celta Vigo a low-risk opportunity.
