Michael Chandler reportedly trains at WWE Performance Center

Michael Chandler, 40, has reportedly worked in the ring at WWE's Performance Center after his latest UFC defeat by Mauricio Ruffy.

Michael Chandler, 40, has reportedly been seen working in the ring at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. The development comes after his latest UFC defeat by Mauricio Ruffy in the lightweight division, where he has built his reputation as one of the sport’s most entertaining competitors.

Chandler began his rise in Bellator before moving to the UFC and facing several of the leading names at 155 pounds. He also challenged for the UFC lightweight championship during his career. A recent sequence of defeats has raised questions about his position in the UFC and whether another route to a title opportunity remains available.

The visit to WWE’s training facility points to Chandler’s long-standing interest in professional wrestling. He previously called out Conor McGregor during a live episode of Monday Night Raw, WWE’s weekly flagship programme, highlighting an interest that has gone beyond simply following the sport.

At 40, Chandler would not be entering WWE at an age that is unusual for many of the company’s established performers. The background of former UFC fighter Ken Shamrock has also been cited as an example of an MMA name moving into professional wrestling. Chandler’s experience in combat sports could therefore make the possibility notable if his involvement develops further.

For now, the reported training session indicates an exploration of professional wrestling rather than confirming a full-time change of career. Chandler remains associated with MMA, but his latest loss to Ruffy has come at a point when his path back towards the UFC lightweight title picture is unclear. His interest in WWE adds another possibility to the next stage of a career that has already included major Bellator and UFC contests.
