Miguel Cardoso confirms severe Khuliso Mudau injury at Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns right-back Khuliso Mudau has suffered a very severe hamstring injury, coach Miguel Cardoso confirmed. The 31-year-old South Africa international is now facing a spell away from football, although no recovery timeframe was given.

Cardoso described Mudau’s absence as a major loss for South Africa. The defender’s injury affects a player who operates at right-back for both Sundowns and the national team, making the confirmation significant beyond the club’s squad.

Mudau has been with Mamelodi Sundowns since joining from Black Leopards during the 2020/21 season. He previously moved to Black Leopards from Magesi FC in 2017/18, after beginning that sequence of transfers with JDR Stars in 2016/17.
