Mustapha Yakubu trains with Hearts of Oak ahead of transfer
Hearts of Oak forward Mustapha Yakubu has joined first-team training as the club nears a deal to sign the former Hapoel Umm al-Fahm player.
Forward Mustapha Yakubu has taken part in training sessions with Hearts of Oak as the club moves closer to securing his signature. The 21-year-old participated with the first team today under the direction of head coach Nebojsa Kapor.
The Ghana U20 international recently returned to the country following a period playing for the Israeli club Hapoel Umm al-Fahm. Before his time in Israel, Yakubu played for Heart of Lions. His presence at training indicates that negotiations between the player and the Phobians are progressing well.
Hearts of Oak are working to finalize the deal before the start of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season. While the club has not officially confirmed the signing, the player is expected to sign a contract once the final details are settled in the coming days.
