NFF names Victor Madubuko to Beach Soccer and Futsal League Board

Professor Victor Madubuko has joined the NFF Beach Soccer and Futsal League Board, with his appointment taking effect immediately.

The Nigeria Football Federation has appointed Professor Victor Madubuko to its Beach Soccer and Futsal League Board, effective immediately. His appointment was communicated in a letter dated August 18, 2026, signed by NFF General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi.

Madubuko’s selection recognises his experience and long-standing work in developing beach soccer and futsal in Nigeria. The appointment places him on the board responsible for supporting the administration and growth of the two formats under the federation.

His involvement in beach soccer in Anambra dates back to 2003, when he established the Anambra Beach Soccer Association. The association helped create a structured base for the sport in the state, where beach soccer has since become a well-established activity.

Madubuko also founded and financed beach soccer operations in Anambra. A standard beach soccer pitch was built in Nnewi, providing a permanent venue for matches and activities in the industrial town.

Anambra has hosted the Nigeria Beach Soccer League on two occasions, attracting leading clubs from around the country. Those events were held at the Nnewi facility and helped bring national league competition to the state.

The Anambra Beach Soccer Association was also formed as a recognised and registered organisation under the Ministry of Sports and Youth Development. That registration is required for the association to qualify for sponsorship from the state government.
