Cercle Brugge have completed the signing of Nigerian-born defender Tayo Adaramola from Crystal Palace. The 22-year-old left-back has agreed a contract with the Belgian Pro League club that runs until 2030.
Adaramola returns to Belgian football after spending the second half of the 2023/24 season on loan at RWD Molenbeek. His move to Cercle gives him another opportunity to continue his development in a competition he already knows.
Born in Dublin to Yoruba Nigerian parents, Adaramola started playing in the youth systems of St Kevin’s Boys and St Mochta’s. He moved to Crystal Palace’s academy in 2015 and progressed through the English club’s development structure.
The defender has represented the Republic of Ireland at several youth levels and has one senior international appearance for the country. His international background and experience in both England and Belgium add to the profile he brings to Cercle’s squad.
Cercle technical director Luciano Murchio described Adaramola as a young player who has already built experience at different levels. He also highlighted the full-back’s attacking qualities and said the club expects him to develop further after joining the Green and Blacks.
Adaramola said he felt positive about Cercle from his first discussions with the club and is eager to begin. His arrival strengthens the team’s options at left-back while placing him in a club that sees him as a player capable of taking another step in his career.
