Nurudeen Aweroro takes charge of Al-Hilal B team in Sudan as coach
Nurudeen Aweroro has left Shooting Stars to lead Al-Hilal’s B team in Sudan after guiding the Nigerian club to a CAF Confederation Cup place.
Nurudeen Aweroro has been appointed coach of Al-Hilal’s B team in Sudan, taking charge of the youth side after leaving Nigerian club Shooting Stars. The move places the young Nigerian tactician in charge of a development team at one of Sudan’s leading clubs.
Aweroro’s departure follows a notable spell with Shooting Stars, where he guided the Ibadan-based side to a place in the CAF Confederation Cup. The qualification ended a 27-year wait for the club to return to the continental competition.
His new position will focus on developing players for Al-Hilal’s senior team. Aweroro will work on improving the youngsters’ tactical understanding and preparing them for the demands of senior-level football.
The appointment gives him responsibility for a group of emerging players rather than a senior squad. His brief will include helping the club’s young footballers progress within Al-Hilal and building their readiness for higher-level competition.
Before taking charge of Shooting Stars, Aweroro managed Ikorodu City in the Nigerian Premier Football League. His experience in the NPFL and his success in securing continental qualification with Shooting Stars now precede his move to Sudan.
The Al-Hilal role represents Aweroro’s next coaching assignment outside the immediate demands of a Nigerian senior league campaign. He will now continue his coaching career through youth development, with responsibility for preparing Al-Hilal’s B-team players for the club’s senior level.
