PFL Africa announces Casablanca semifinals and Kane vs Medkouri

PFL Africa will hold its next event at the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca on October 10. The card features a heavyweight main event between Senegal’s Abdoulaye Kane and Morocco’s Badr Medkouri. Kane holds a 5-2 record with five finishes, including four knockouts and one submission. Medkouri enters the fight with a 9-3 record and eight knockout victories.

The bantamweight semifinals include a co-main event between undefeated Karim Henniene and Raphael Uchegbu. Henniene, who is 7-0, secured his spot with a first-round anaconda choke against Thimna Mhlauli. Uchegbu, fighting with an 11-2 record, advanced via a unanimous decision over Edson Machavane, with all three judges scoring the bout 30-27.

In the other bantamweight semifinal, Liberia’s Dwight Joseph (16-3) faces Angola’s Boule Godogo (5-2). Godogo reached the semifinals by stopping Dauda Rajabu with ground-and-pound in the third round. The welterweight division features Shido Boris Esperança (12-2) against Peace Nguphane (9-3), while Rivaldo Pereira (4-2) takes on unbeaten Nigerian David Samuel (6-0).

Two lightweight semifinals are also scheduled. Patrick Ocheme (9-1) will meet Cornel Thompson (12-3). Ocheme advanced in Lagos with a first-round flying knee knockout, while Thompson won a three-round decision against Aureo Cruz. The second lightweight bout features Senegal’s Demba Seck (11-3) against Chad’s Hussain Al Kurdi (3-0), who progressed via a second-round rear-naked choke.

This event marks the first PFL Africa stop in North Africa following the June tournament in Lagos. The Casablanca card includes athletes from Algeria, Angola, Chad, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, and South Africa. Winners of these six semifinal bouts will advance to the PFL Africa Finals later this year.
