Mansur Abdul-Malik seeks redemption at UFC 330 in Philadelphia

Middleweight Mansur Abdul-Malik discusses his first professional loss and his plan to be more aggressive against Dustin Stoltzfus this Saturday.

Mansur Abdul-Malik will attempt to bounce back from his first professional defeat this Saturday at UFC 330 in Philadelphia. The middleweight, who holds a record of 9-1-1, faces Dustin Stoltzfus in his home state.

Speaking at the UFC 330 media day, Abdul-Malik reflected on his loss to Yousri Belgaroui in March. He admitted that during his previous outing, he attempted to be too perfect in the cage. He noted that his intention for the upcoming fight is to be more aggressive and playful rather than being overly serious.

After the setback, the MMA Masters trainee examined his lifestyle and habits to find areas for improvement. He concluded that because he does not drink, party, or go out, the necessary changes had to be internal. He described his previous performance as a failure to express his true self.

Despite his undefeated streak prior to the Belgaroui fight, Abdul-Malik stated that he did not feel significant pressure to remain unblemished. He noted that he has experienced losses in wrestling before and viewed his recent MMA defeat as a moment where he was not being his truest self.

Abdul-Malik acknowledged that he lost to a superior opponent but remains focused on the new opportunity ahead. He intends to engage in the fight and simply perform as himself. He emphasized that while the loss is a reality, he does not view it as a permanent setback to his career.

He maintains a position on the main card of this numbered event despite the recent loss. Abdul-Malik expressed excitement about the chance to be free and express himself during the bout this weekend.
