Rennie provides injury updates on Jordan and McKenzie

All Blacks head coach Dave Rennie has clarified the availability of Will Jordan and Damian McKenzie ahead of the upcoming tour matches.

All Blacks head coach Dave Rennie has provided updates on the fitness of Will Jordan and Damian McKenzie. The winger and fullback have both been sidelined by recent injuries during the current tour.

Damian McKenzie suffered an ankle injury during the 54-0 victory over the Sharks on Tuesday. He will miss the upcoming match against the Vodacom Bulls at Loftus Versfeld this Saturday. However, Rennie expects the fullback to be fit for the first Test against the Springboks next week.

Will Jordan has also been unavailable due to a back problem. Rennie noted that the coaching staff had intended to give the winger game time against the Sharks or during the current week, but he was not ready. The coach stated that Jordan is improving and expressed confidence in his recovery.

Other injury concerns include Cam Roigard, who felt discomfort after a planned period on the bench during Tuesday's match. Rennie believes Roigard will be ready for the first Test following his consistent playing time this year. The coach also noted that the call-up of Richie Mo’unga highlights the importance of having versatile cover in the backline.

Codie Taylor is set to return to the starting lineup against the Bulls after recovering from a calf injury. Taylor has missed the first two matches of the tour. Rennie described the return of the tour captain as a positive moment for the player.

Due to these various injuries and niggles, Rennie has made several changes to his starting XV. The coach indicated that the squad remains a strong group capable of taking the opportunities presented by the selection shifts.
