Small Tyson, Golden Boy set for rematch in Battle of the Ages 14.0

Small Tyson and Golden Boy will meet again in the third quarter after Lawal won their 2025 National Lightweight title fight by unanimous decision.

Ahmed “Small Tyson” Lawal and Sodiq “Golden Boy” Oyakojo will meet again in the third quarter of the year on De’Lad Boxing Promotions’ Battle of the Ages 14.0 card. Lawal won their first contest by unanimous decision on October 4, 2025, claiming the National Lightweight title.

The rematch gives Oyakojo an opportunity to overturn the result and take the championship from Lawal. Their first meeting was fought for the title, with Lawal securing the judges’ unanimous verdict at the final bell.

Lawal now enters the return bout as the champion. His task is to retain the National Lightweight title and confirm that his first victory reflected a lasting advantage over Oyakojo. The belt also adds responsibility to a rivalry that remains unresolved after one contest.

For Oyakojo, the second meeting offers a chance to respond to the defeat. He will have the opportunity to make changes from the opening fight and replace the unanimous decision loss with a win in the rematch. Victory would also give him the National Lightweight championship.

The bout will form part of De’Lad Boxing Promotions’ Battle of the Ages 14.0 series, adding another championship contest to the promotion’s work in African boxing. De’Lad has focused on staging fight cards, creating opportunities for boxers and developing contests that allow fighters to gain experience at title level.

Its events bring together boxers, coaches, officials, fans, sponsors and media around competitive boxing programmes. The Lawal-Oyakojo rematch is the latest chapter in that programme, with the champion seeking to protect his standing and the challenger attempting to change the outcome of their first meeting.
