Steve Bruce names Arsenal as Premier League title favourites
Former Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce has dismissed Manchester United's title chances and identified Arsenal as the team to beat this season.
Former Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce has identified Arsenal as the primary contenders to win the Premier League title this season. He dismissed the idea that Manchester United are currently capable of winning the league.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Bruce suggested that Manchester United's title ambitions are premature. He stated that expecting the club to compete for the trophy at this stage is asking too much too soon.
Bruce pointed to Arsenal as the team that everyone else must overcome. He noted that the Gunners secured the Premier League title last season with significant ease.
The former manager highlighted the squad depth of the North London club as a key factor. He mentioned that Arsenal have improved their lineup by adding Bruno Guimaraes and Declan Rice to their ranks.
Bruce also indicated that the Arsenal squad is not yet finished with its recruitment. He believes that one or two additional players will join the club before the season progresses.
By focusing on the recent success and the continuous strengthening of the Arsenal squad, Bruce maintains that the Gunners remain the standard for the rest of the league to follow.
