Stormers XXIII await late fitness decision on Dylan Miller
Coach Tom Dawson-Squibb will make a final decision on fullback Dylan Miller's availability for the Currie Cup match against the Pumas.
Stormers XXIII coach Tom Dawson-Squibb will make a late decision regarding the availability of fullback Dylan Miller for the upcoming Currie Cup fixture against the Pumas at Mbombela Stadium. Miller has been named in the starting lineup but is currently managing a physical niggle.
Dawson-Squibb confirmed that the Junior Springbok remains available for selection, though a final call on whether he travels to Mbombela will be made at the last minute. Miller has started every match for the side this season and was part of the recent title defence in Georgia.
The Stormers XXIII lineup will feature five changes for the Saturday encounter. Four of these adjustments occur in the forwards, with Mhleli Khuzwayo, Herman Lubbe, Wandile Mlaba, and Keke Morabe all earning spots in the starting XV. In the backline, Joel Leotlela makes his first appearance of the season on the wing.
Leotlela replaces Suleiman Hartzenberg, who is expected to be unavailable for one week following a minor injury sustained against the Cheetahs at Athlone Stadium. Dawson-Squibb described the injury as rib bruising that was identified during medical assessments.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding Miller and the injury to Hartzenberg, Dawson-Squibb expressed confidence in the squad's progress and energy. He noted that while the Pumas have a clear model of play, the Stormers XXIII are prepared for the challenge in Mbombela.
