Suleiman warns Kwara United against complacency after wins

Kwara United technical adviser Ashifat Suleiman says the team must continue working hard despite winning their last two pre-season matches.

Kwara United technical adviser Ashifat Suleiman has cautioned his players against becoming overconfident following their recent pre-season performances. The team secured two victories in their last two friendly matches held in Katsina.

Suleiman noted that while the results in Katsina were positive, the squad needs to maintain a high level of effort. He emphasized that the club is still in a rebuilding phase and requires continued hard work to reach its goals. The technical adviser believes that the current momentum should serve as a foundation rather than a reason to relax.

Speaking to the club's media, Suleiman stated that the team will stay dedicated to their specific objectives. He insisted that the recent wins should not distract the players from the tasks ahead. According to the technical adviser, the process of restructuring the team is ongoing and demands constant discipline.

Despite the successful run in Katsina, the focus remains on the upcoming competitive fixtures. Suleiman wants the players to understand that pre-season success does not guarantee results once the official league matches begin. He maintains that the work required to improve the squad is far from finished.

Kwara United are now preparing for the start of the 2026-27 Nigeria Premier Football League season. Their opening fixture will be a home game against Kano Pillars in Ilorin. The team will look to translate their recent pre-season form into points during this first league encounter.
