TS Galaxy Queens beat Stellenbosch 2-0 in Hollywoodbets Super League

TS Galaxy Queens moved to within two points of Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies after a 2-0 win over Stellenbosch in the Hollywoodbets Super League.

TS Galaxy Queens defeated Stellenbosch Ladies 2-0 to reduce the gap to Hollywoodbets Super League leaders Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies to two points. The result kept Galaxy Queens second in their stream after six matches.

Nomvula Kgoale and Alicia Terhart scored the goals for TS Galaxy Queens at Sol Plaatjie University. The victory came during a weekend in which only three fixtures were played in the division.

Galaxy Queens now have 13 points from six outings. Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies remain top, but the defending champions were away at the CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA qualifiers in Gaborone, allowing their nearest challengers to make ground.

The 2-0 result strengthened Galaxy Queens’ position above University of Pretoria, who stayed third after drawing 1-1 with Richmond United. Tuks have seven points from six matches, while Richmond United also moved to seven points after salvaging a draw.

University of Pretoria fell behind after Mmaphuti Tapala scored an own goal, before Thandeka Ncambe levelled for the side from De Aar. The point left Richmond United three points behind Tuks in the stream.

University of Western Cape were the other winners at the weekend, beating Diepkloof Ladies 1-0 through a Sinamile Mkhwanazi goal. The victory placed UWC fourth on 10 points from six matches, while Diepkloof remained second from bottom with three points.
