Tusker stun Gor Mahia 3-1 to claim the 2026 FKF Super Cup title

Tusker beat FKF Premier League champions Gor Mahia 3-1 at Nyayo Stadium to lift the 2026 FKF Super Cup after a decisive first-half display.

Tusker defeated Gor Mahia 3-1 at Nyayo Stadium on August 23, 2026, to win the FKF Super Cup. The victory gave the brewers a trophy despite their 10th-place finish in the 2025 FKF Premier League.

Francis Oduor put Tusker ahead in the 33rd minute when his effort took a deflection before beating Gor goalkeeper Humphrey Katasi. The lead was doubled shortly afterwards, with Eugene Ikutwa finding the net from distance to leave Tusker in control.

Ikutwa then handed Gor a route back into the contest by turning Daniel Sakari’s throw-in into his own goal. Gor almost levelled before the interval, but Dennis Omedi could not get a touch on Ben Stanley Omondi’s low delivery from the right.

Gor Mahia, the Premier League champions, returned from the break with greater attacking intent. They were unable to convert that pressure, however, and Tusker restored their two-goal advantage in the 54th minute.

Yakeen Muteheli supplied the cross for the third goal, with Ian Simiyu reaching it first and sending a diving header beyond Mike Kibwage. Tusker then protected their lead through a disciplined defensive display that restricted Gor’s attacks around the penalty area.

The result marks a sharp turnaround from Tusker’s recent sequence. They had lost 2-0 away to Al Hilal Omdurman, beaten Police 2-1, drawn 1-1 with APS Bomet, and then suffered successive 2-0 and 1-0 defeats against Ulinzi Stars and Bandari. Their league campaign ended with 45 points from 34 matches, including 13 wins, six draws and 15 defeats, with 27 goals scored and 32 conceded.

Tusker’s next fixture is another meeting with Ulinzi Stars, this time in the FKF Premier League on August 30, 2026.
