Ugandan boys' football teams begin FEASSA Games in Morogoro

All four Ugandan boys' football teams start their FEASSA Games campaign on Friday, 14th August 2026, in Morogoro, Tanzania.

The 23rd edition of the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games began on Friday, 14th August 2026, in Morogoro, Tanzania. All four Ugandan boys' football teams are scheduled to compete on the opening day of the tournament.

Action starts at 9 am with two matches. Amus College School from Uganda faces Mbeya Day of Tanzania at the Ujenzi stadium. Simultaneously, IPTEM Makamba from Burundi takes on Nsumba of the host nation at the SUA.

At 11 am, St Mary’s Kitende of Uganda meets St Mary’s Yala from Kenya at the Highland playground. Later in the afternoon, Kyadondo SS will face Kakamega School of Kenya at the Moro Secondary School playground at 1 pm.

The final football match of the day takes place at 3 pm at the Jamhuri Stadium. The reigning boys' football champions, Bukedea Comprehensive School, will play against Urambo Day from Tanzania. Uganda enters the competition as the defending champions following their previous success in Kakamega, Kenya.

Tanzania is hosting teams from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi across more than 20 sporting disciplines. The event includes participation from primary schools, secondary schools, and institutions for children with special needs. Over 4,000 students are gathered for the competition.

Beyond football, the games feature a wide range of sports. The programme includes rugby in both 7s and 15s formats, netball, volleyball, hockey, athletics, and swimming. Other disciplines being contested are cricket, baseball, softball, tennis, scrabble, and chess.
