Wolves announce year-long 150th anniversary celebrations

Wolverhampton Wanderers has launched a year-long programme to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the club. The celebrations will take place throughout the 2026/27 season, tracing the history of the club back to the formation of St Luke’s FC in 1877.

To mark the milestone, the club has introduced a new anniversary identity featuring bespoke typography and traditional Old Gold colours. This branding will be integrated into merchandise, matchday activities, and club content. The celebrations are built around eight specific themes: Originals, Innovators, Grafters, Leaders, Romantics, Survivors, Challengers, and Dreamers.

New kit designs have been unveiled as a centerpiece of the anniversary. The 2026/27 home shirt uses a traditional shade of old gold chosen by supporters and features the city's coat of arms, which has not appeared on the kit for over 30 years. The away kit is all-white, drawing inspiration from the club's changed strips used during the 1980s.

Community engagement is a key part of the anniversary plans. Through the Wolves Foundation and local organisations, the club will donate up to 150 tickets for every home league match during the season. This initiative aims to allow hundreds of people to attend a first-team fixture at Molineux for the first time.

Events will also take place outside the stadium. In partnership with Wolverhampton City Council, anniversary banners will be placed across the city. Additionally, a new Wolves Fanzone will open at The Halls to serve as a matchday destination for supporters in the city centre.

Executive chairman Nathan Shi noted that the milestone belongs to everyone involved in the club's history, from players to the supporters who have provided loyalty through periods of success and difficulty. The club intends for the anniversary to honour the past while inspiring future generations.
