Arsenal confident of completing Victor Osimhen transfer
Arsenal are making moves to sign Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen as Mikel Arteta identifies the Nigerian international as his primary summer target.
Arsenal are confident they can finalize a deal for Victor Osimhen before the current transfer window closes. The North London club has initiated discussions with Galatasaray to secure the services of the 27-year-old striker.
Mikel Arteta has named the Nigerian international as his top priority for the summer. While Arsenal have made a move for the player, they have not yet submitted a formal offer. To complete the transfer, the Premier League side must convince both the player and the Turkish club.
Galatasaray previously invested €70m to acquire Osimhen. The Istanbul-based club has not set a specific asking price but aims to recover the money spent on the striker. Arsenal will likely need to meet or exceed that €70m figure to reach an agreement. Osimhen, who is valued at €75m, remains under contract until 2029 and is reportedly open to a move to the Premier League.
The pursuit of Osimhen follows interest from Galatasaray in Arsenal players Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri. Agent George Gardi, who acted as an intermediary during Osimhen's move to Turkey on loan in 2024, is leading Galatasaray's negotiations regarding the Brazilian winger.
Osimhen arrives with a strong recent record. During the previous campaign, he recorded 22 goals and provided eight assists across 33 appearances.
