Cape Town City sign striker Abednego Mosiatlhaga

Cape Town City are preparing to announce the signing of experienced striker Abednego Mosiatlhaga. The 31-year-old forward is set to join the Motsepe Foundation Championship side on a free transfer.

Mosiatlhaga has spent several weeks undergoing an assessment with the Citizens. His performances during this period have reportedly impressed head coach Andries Ulderink. The two have a previous working relationship from the 2019/20 Motsepe Foundation Championship season, when they were together at Cape Town Spurs.

During that period at Cape Town Spurs, Mosiatlhaga secured the Golden Boot by scoring 17 goals while the club pursued promotion. Since then, the striker has spent nearly three seasons in Angola playing for FC Bravos do Maquis. He was a significant figure in their qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup and earned multiple Player of the Month awards during his tenure.

Following his time with Maquis, the forward moved to Wiliete SC before the current negotiations with Cape Town City began. The move marks a return to South African football for the player, who is widely known by the nickname ‘Nego’.
