Club Brugge add Brentford defender Jayden Meghoma to shortlist

Club Brugge have expressed interest in Brentford's Jayden Meghoma as they consider adding defensive cover for the left-back position this summer.

Club Brugge have added Brentford defender Jayden Meghoma to their shortlist of potential summer signings. The Belgian side has already expressed interest in the 20-year-old left-back.

There has been no concrete movement from the Blauw & Zwart to secure the player's signature at this stage. The club is currently deciding whether to pursue a new signing for the left-back position during the current transfer window.

If Brugge decides to move forward with a permanent acquisition, Meghoma remains one of the profiles under consideration. The club currently possesses only one specialist left-back, Joaquin Seys, though Kyriani Sabbe and Hugo Siquet are available as right-backs who can operate in that role.

Meghoma arrived at Brentford in 2024 following a €5.9m deal. He spent the previous season on loan at Rangers after a stint at Preston, making 44 appearances in all competitions for the Scottish club.

While Meghoma is not currently part of Brentford's immediate plans, he serves as the only recognized cover for Rico Henry. This situation may influence the Bees' willingness to allow a departure. Any potential move for the defender will depend on how Brentford evaluates his role in the squad this summer.
