Mohammed Dauda signs one-year deal with CD Lugo
Ghanaian attacker Mohammed Dauda has returned to Spanish football after joining CD Lugo on a contract running through the 2026-27 season.
CD Lugo have completed the signing of Ghanaian forward Mohammed Dauda. The 28-year-old attacker has committed to a one-year contract for the 2026-27 campaign.
Dauda arrives at the Anxo Carro with significant experience in Spanish football, having made over 100 appearances in the Segunda Division and Primera Federacion. The right-footed player is known for his pace and typically plays on the left wing, though he possesses the versatility to feature in various attacking roles.
His career includes stints in several European leagues. He started in Belgium with Anderlecht, where he featured in the UEFA Europa League during the 2018-19 season. In the Netherlands, he recorded three goals and one assist in 16 Eredivisie matches for Vitesse, while his time at Esbjerg fB in Denmark saw him score five goals and provide two assists in 25 appearances.
During a previous period in Spain, Dauda enjoyed a productive season at FC Cartagena, where he contributed nine goals and three assists across 38 matches in league and cup competition. His Spanish career also includes spells with Tenerife, Eldense, and Ibiza. Most recently, he made 26 appearances and scored two goals for Portimonense.
Lugo expect the new signing to improve their attacking options through his direct running and ability to create chances in the final third. Dauda returns to the Spanish league looking to make an immediate impact for his new club.
