Don-Angelo Konadu joins Lommel SK on season-long loan from Ajax
Dutch-Ghanaian forward Don-Angelo Konadu has moved from Ajax to Lommel SK for a season, with the Belgian club holding an option to sign him.
Lommel SK have brought in Ajax forward Don-Angelo Konadu on a season-long loan, adding the 20-year-old striker to their attack. The Belgian club also have the option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the campaign.
Konadu is expected to join head coach Lee Johnson’s squad immediately. The move gives the Amsterdam-born forward the chance to compete for regular first-team football while continuing his development in Belgium.
The Dutch-Ghanaian striker joined Ajax’s academy in 2014 and moved through a number of youth levels at the Amsterdam club. He made his Jong Ajax debut in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie in 2024, marking his first senior step within the club’s system.
His progress led to a senior appearance for Ajax in December 2025, when he featured in a Champions League match against Qarabag and set up a goal. He then scored his first Ajax senior goal a few days later in a Dutch Cup fixture against Excelsior Maassluis.
Konadu also helped the Netherlands Under-19 side win the 2025 European Championship. His record at youth and early senior level has now earned him an opportunity to establish himself in Belgian football, where Lommel hope he can turn his potential into consistent performances.
Lommel sporting director Jeffrey van As identified Konadu’s physical strength, speed and ability to create chances for teammates as key qualities behind the move. Konadu is also aiming to collect more playing time, make further improvements and adjust to Lommel’s approach as he begins the next stage of his career.
