The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League champions will receive GHC3m, while all 18 clubs are due GHC1m ahead of the new season.
The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League champions will receive GHC3m in prize money. Each of the 18 clubs in the competition will also be allocated GHC1m for the new campaign, according to Ghana Football Association president Kurt Okraku.
Okraku confirmed the financial package during the GFA’s 32nd Ordinary Congress at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram. The announcement sets out the main financial rewards for the league season, which is scheduled to begin on Saturday, 5 September.
The champions will receive more than the GHC3m prize. The title-winning club is also due to be given a JAC vehicle with a stated value of $33,000, adding a separate material reward to the league’s top prize.
The GFA has put the total amount to be paid to clubs under the new campaign’s financial arrangements at GHC9.5m. The package covers the funding for the participating teams and the additional payment attached to winning the league.
The 18 clubs will compete for the Ghana Premier League title during the 2026/27 season, with the champions also taking the increased cash award and the vehicle. The GFA’s announcement provides the financial framework for the campaign before its scheduled September start.
