Dynamos seek statement win over Scottland in Zimbabwe PSL 2026
Third-placed Dynamos, on 45 points, host leaders Scottland in a rescheduled Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League fixture on August 19.
Dynamos sit third in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League with 45 points from 25 matches, including 11 wins, 12 draws and two defeats. Leaders Scottland have 53 points, so a Dynamos victory in Harare would reduce the gap at the top to five points.
The rescheduled fixture takes place at Rufaro Stadium on August 19, with Dynamos seeking a result that can revive their title challenge. Second-placed Hardrock, on 51 points, are also involved in the battle near the summit, making the outcome important beyond the two teams on the pitch.
Dynamos coach Aristica Cioaba has used a five-day camp to prepare his squad for a demanding period that includes three matches in seven days. The programme has combined recovery work with tactical sessions and efforts to strengthen the group’s unity after a congested run of fixtures.
The Harare club enter the match in strong league form. They beat Platinum FC 1-0 away, drew 0-0 with Simba Bhora, defeated MWOS 2-0 on the road, won 2-1 at Hardrock and then overcame Agama 4-0. The sequence has taken Dynamos to third and underlined their defensive consistency, with only two league goals conceded across those five matches.
Cioaba has stressed the importance of taking points from Scottland, who are both league leaders and the reigning champions. Dynamos will rely on a defence expected to include Christopher Nettey, Isaac Landu, Clive Mandivei and Abel Gwatidzo, while Scottland’s attacking options include Khama Billiat, Panashe Mutimbanyoka, Knowledge Musona and Walter Musona.
Dynamos also arrive with confidence from a 4-1 Chibuku Super Cup win over TelOne at the weekend. The club has no reported injuries or suspensions for the fixture, giving Cioaba the full squad available as his team attempts to turn its recent unbeaten run into a significant step in the championship race.
