Fabian Hurzeler vows to prioritize Ibrahim Osman's future

Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler says the club will carefully assess Ibrahim Osman's development before deciding his role for the upcoming season.

Brighton and Hove Albion head coach Fabian Hurzeler has stated that the club will make the most appropriate decision regarding the future of Ibrahim Osman. The Ghanaian winger is currently working to secure a permanent position within the Premier League side's senior squad.

Osman arrived at Brighton from FC Nordsjaelland but has spent much of his tenure on loan to gain senior experience. During the previous season, the 21-year-old played in France, the Netherlands, and England. His recent stints included time with AJ Auxerre in France and Feyenoord in the Netherlands.

His most recent loan move saw him join Championship side Birmingham City for the latter half of the last campaign. During his time in England with Birmingham, Osman made 18 appearances across all competitions, recording two goals and two assists.

Having returned to Brighton for pre-season ahead of the 2026/27 season, Osman has already featured in the team's 3-0 win against AS Roma. Hurzeler noted that he has been impressed by the winger's progress during these early preparations.

Despite the positive displays, the Brighton manager indicated that the club will not rush any conclusions regarding the player's path. He noted that the club intends to wait and see how the player's form continues to ensure the best outcome for both the individual and the team.

Osman will have another chance to demonstrate his capabilities during Brighton's upcoming pre-season fixture against Bologna. The match is scheduled for Saturday at 14:00 GMT.
