GFA approves 14 venues for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season
The GFA has cleared 14 venues for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League, with the season set to run from September 4-7, 2026, to May 31, 2027.
The Ghana Football Association has approved 14 venues for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League after inspections by its Club Licensing Department. The clearance was completed on August 17, 2026, ahead of the new campaign.
The venues include Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale, Accra Sports Stadium, the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, Duns Park in Bibiani, Nsenkyire Sports Arena in Sambreboi and TnA Stadium in Tarkwa. Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in Bechem, AAK II Sports Arena and Tuba Astro Turf are also among the grounds approved for league matches.
The list further includes Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, Golden City Park in Berekum, Nana Boamah Darko II Park in Kukurantumi and Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi. The approval gives clubs a confirmed group of grounds for the season, subject to the competition’s published schedule.
The league is due to begin over the weekend of September 4-7, 2026. It will run across 30 weeks before concluding over the weekend of May 28-31, 2027, setting the competition’s timetable for the campaign.
Most matches will be played at weekends under the established league format. Midweek dates will be used only for outstanding fixtures, rather than as part of the regular weekly programme. The arrangement is intended to support attendance and provide a more balanced calendar throughout the season.
The venue approvals are the latest preparations completed before the opening weekend. With the grounds cleared and the competition dates set, the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League will proceed within the established format and a schedule built around weekend fixtures.
