GFA Executive Council meets Women’s Premier League clubs for 2026/27

The Ghana Football Association’s Executive Council has met representatives of Women’s Premier League clubs as preparations begin for the 2026/27 season. The engagement also examined the organisation and administration of the recently completed 2025/26 campaign.

Club representatives used the meeting to provide detailed feedback on how the league was run. Their contributions identified parts of the competition that had improved, while also pointing to areas where clubs require more support and further development.

The review gave the GFA and the clubs an opportunity to discuss the competition beyond its match schedule and results. The discussions focused on the administration of the league and the steps needed to strengthen its operation ahead of the next campaign.

Attention then turned to preparations for 2026/27. Clubs were urged to improve their planning, administrative structures and overall readiness, while maintaining close cooperation with the GFA as they work towards a smooth and competitive season.

The meeting also reinforced the shared aim of raising the standard of the Women’s Premier League. The GFA and the clubs want to improve the competition’s quality, competitiveness, visibility and commercial appeal as work continues towards the new season.

The engagement provided a direct forum for clubs to raise concerns and discuss possible improvements with the association. It also reaffirmed the GFA’s intention to respond to stakeholder concerns and continue developing women’s football.
