Hearts of Oak complete Prince Amevor signing from Hohoe United

Hearts of Oak have signed former Hohoe United right-back Prince Amevor on a three-year deal as they prepare for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League.

Hearts of Oak have completed the signing of former Hohoe United defender Prince Amevor on a three-year contract. The 24-year-old right-back joins the Accra club as a free agent ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.

Amevor became available after Hohoe United withdrew from the Ghana Premier League. The decision meant that players registered with the club were released as free agents, allowing the defender to move to Hearts without a transfer fee.

The new arrival can play on either side of defence, giving head coach Nebojsa Kapor another option in the full-back positions. Amevor is also known for his pace and his willingness to contribute in attacking areas, qualities that add variety to Hearts of Oak’s defensive choices.

He made 26 appearances for Hohoe United during the 2025/26 season. His experience from that campaign should give him a strong basis as he competes for a regular place at right-back and challenges the other defenders in the squad.

The move is part of Hearts of Oak’s recruitment work before the new league campaign. The Phobians have already brought in several players as they seek to improve on their previous season and assemble a squad capable of competing for honours.

Amevor’s first task will be to settle into Kapor’s team during pre-season preparations. Hearts of Oak are due to face Asante Kotoko in the Democracy Cup on August 28 before the start of the Ghana Premier League season, giving the new signing an early opportunity to compete for a role in the squad.
