Jamal Ben Saddik leaves GLORY to join Melvin Manhoef's WFL

Jamal Ben Saddik has ended his long tenure with GLORY to sign with the World Fighting League (WFL). The Belgian-Moroccan heavyweight is scheduled to make his promotional debut on October 3 at the Lotto Arena in his hometown of Antwerp.

Ben Saddik will compete in the WFL “Final 16” event, which initiates a heavyweight tournament featuring eight fighters across four separate bouts. While his participation in the tournament is confirmed, his opponent for the October 3 card has not yet been announced.

The 35-year-old fighter departs GLORY after a career with the promotion that began in 2012. Standing 2.05 metres tall and weighing approximately 117.5 kilograms, he was one of the largest competitors in the division. During his time with GLORY, he secured 12 wins, including nine by knockout.

His career highlights include winning the GLORY Heavyweight Tournament at GLORY 62 in December 2018, where he defeated Junior Tafa, Guto Inocente, and Benjamin Adegbuyi. He also holds notable victories over Rico Verhoeven, Errol Zimmerman, and Remy Bonjasky.

Ben Saddik's move to the WFL, led by former fighter Melvin Manhoef, follows a return to the ring in February 2025 after a two-year absence. The heavyweight's arrival provides the new promotion with an established name for its heavyweight tournament structure.
