Jon Telfer signs with BKB and targets Newcastle return

Scottish lightweight Jon Telfer has joined BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing and confirmed his debut will take place in Newcastle on October 10.

Scottish lightweight Jon Telfer has signed with BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing. He confirmed via Instagram that his debut for the promotion is scheduled for October 10 in Newcastle.

Telfer indicated that he will compete in the Trigon ring, which is the triangular fighting area used by the BKB promotion. He also stated that he expects to earn a six-figure sum for the upcoming bout.

The move marks a return to Newcastle for the fighter. His last documented bare-knuckle appearance took place at the Utilita Arena on March 14 during BKFC Fight Night: Newcastle. In that contest, Telfer lost to Lewis Keen via unanimous decision. That event featured Mick Terrill winning the inaugural BKFC UK heavyweight title against Jay McFarlane via a first-round TKO.

Telfer enters the BKB roster with experience from two major BKFC events. Previously listed as a lightweight standing 5-foot-10 with a 69-inch reach, he held a 1-0 professional bare-knuckle record before his loss to Keen. This transition represents a shift within the British bare-knuckle market as he moves from the BKFC banner to a different promotion and a different ring format.

By joining BKB, Telfer will test himself in a new environment. BKB manages a roster of hundreds of active fighters across 14 different weight classes. The October 10 date provides the promotion with a Newcastle-based storyline as Telfer prepares for his debut in the Trigon ring.
