Jude Bellingham describes Mourinho reunion as a dream
Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham expressed his excitement about working under Jose Mourinho following his return to pre-season training.
Jude Bellingham has described the prospect of working under Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid as a dream. The midfielder made his return to the Valdebebas training centre this week, becoming the final player to rejoin his teammates for pre-season after an extended break following the 2026 World Cup.
Bellingham spoke to Real Madrid TV about the appointment of Mourinho, who has returned to the club for a second stint. The England international noted that he already feels a connection with the manager. Although he has only observed Mourinho once, he said he is eager to see how the coach operates.
The midfielder arrives back in Madrid following a significant tournament in 2026, where he scored seven goals during England's run to the semi-finals. He believes his increased maturity and experience will benefit the team this season. He also expressed confidence in the club's recent recruitment, which includes the arrivals of Bernardo Silva, Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries, and Carlos EspÃ.
Real Madrid is looking to move past a difficult previous campaign. The club finished the last season without a major trophy, placing second in LaLiga eight points behind Barcelona and exiting the Champions League in the quarter-finals against Bayern Munich. Following the dismissal of Xabi Alonso in January, Alvaro Arbeloa managed the team until the end of the season.
Bellingham, who recorded eight goals and five assists across 40 appearances last year, stated that playing for the club is a privilege. He indicated his desire to remain with the side for many years to come.
