Karela United and AshantiGold eye free agent Isaac Mintah

Karela United and newly promoted FC AshantiGold are competing for the signature of former Asante Kotoko striker Isaac Mintah.

Karela United and FC AshantiGold have both shown interest in signing striker Isaac Mintah. The 27-year-old forward is currently a free agent following the mutual termination of his contract with Asante Kotoko earlier this week.

Mintah's departure from the Porcupine Warriors follows a period that did not meet the club's initial expectations. He had arrived at Kotoko in January 2025 on a contract lasting two and a half years. This move came after a challenging period playing for the Libyan club Al Ahli.

Before his time in Libya, the striker had a productive spell with Aduana Stars. During his tenure there, he recorded nine goals in 11 appearances. He will now seek a new club to restart his career before the start of the next season.

Karela United is interested in the striker to improve their attacking depth. Meanwhile, newly promoted FC AshantiGold is also monitoring the player. The club has been active in the transfer market to strengthen their squad for the upcoming campaign.

Mintah has previous experience playing against Karela United, having faced them twice during his time with Aduana Stars. The forward is currently evaluating his options as he looks for a new team in the Ghana Premier League.
